Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is a Mexican American sportscaster. She's an ESPN anchor of news and hosts SportsNation occasionally. She was hired by ESPN in 2016. Her daughter is television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is a bilingual since the age of nine years old a useful ability that allowed her to secure her first position as a production assistant for Univision in Miami that gave her the opportunity to interact with producers of national programming like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. It was the CBS subsidiary located in St. Petersburg hired her for a position as reporters for sports. The year 2009 saw her move to Rio Grande Valley, Texas in order to be a news reporter for the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. The reporter covered stories about illegal immigration as well as drug trafficking along the Texas and Mexico frontier, she served as a news reporter on KNVO TV 48 Univision, the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. The station also frequently asked her to fill in as a sports and weather anchor. She then anchored and reported for Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was granted more responsibilities. In 1992, the couple divorced then shortly thereafter in 1995 she was remarried Fabio Fajardo who was an engineer from the navy who died in 2006 after suffering from kidney cancer. The summer of 2006, she went to spend a week with her sister in Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was working at the time. Antonietta was a senior high school student however, she was very aware of her goals for the future. She visited Mount Union University to find out if the school was suitable for her. In the end, she loved the campus, and they offered the course she was looking for. She completed her schooling and was accepted to the University to pursue a degree in Media studies. She developed a long-lasting relationship with her professor Mark Bergmann who was the director of WRMU 91.1 FM, a station of which she was an affiliate. The professor who taught her Mark Bergmann inspired her by his passion in journalism. The professor also had a profound impact on her.
